It comes from Dave Radcliffe of the Yahoo! Contributor Network. Never heard of him? He identifies himself as “ a resident of a little known Milwaukee suburb who is an avid follower of Wisconsin sports. He has contributed to JSOnline, as a featured columnist on other sites and publications, and been a guest on multiple sports talk radio shows.”
Hat tip to Dave Radcliffe. His commentary once again makes the point that if you can think and write you can find a readership. If you can think and write and find a readership you might eventually get paid to do it.
That said, Radcliffe’s commentary could have used some perfunctory reporting — comments from MLB, MLBPA, Brewers, or a third-party media expert. Also, when he writes that “Quite frankly, fans are over PEDs and steroids in baseball” he ignores contradictory evidence.
Reporting takes time and effort. This post, for instance, needs reporting on the Yahoo! Contributor Network. How big? Who qualifies? Who edits? Readership? Who are the most successful Yahoo! Contributors and have any gone on to bigger jobs in sports media?
